When you are alone you feel vulnerable and weak compared to when you have a lot of people with you. The problem with being all by yourself is that you feel self pity. Humans have this initial feeling of wanting to be with others, because human beings are essentially social beings. This is why when you are faced with a problem, even if you are the only one who can solve it, you will always feel better and stronger when you know that there are people who support your fight.

The American Cancer Society is one of the institutions that provide the cancer patients all over America all the help and support they need. They are fundamentally a nationwide health organization that is focused on eliminating all the problems cancer causes. The American Cancer Society believes that cancer is one of the most quickly spreading pandemic, not only in America, but the whole world as well. They believe that this enemy should be eliminated totally to decrease the number of deaths, because there are millions of people who have this disease.
The American Cancer Society wants to decrease the threat of cancer. They do this by funding researches that might help solve the problems of cancer, or maybe find an effective cure to it. They also run public campaigns to make the people aware of the cancer situation. Aside from those, they also organize events that help cancer patients and to promote cancer awareness as well.
They also simultaneously encourage people to quit smoking. This is because they believe that smoking is one of the major causes of cancer. This is why besides promoting cancer awareness; the American Cancer Society is also an organization that fights cigarette or any kinds of smoking. There are also reports that there is a high increase in those who smoke the past years, which will also mean that the number of people who might get cancer will also increase. America Cancer Society believes that this is one of the roots of cancer which needs to be plucked.
Another main project of this organization is reaching those patients who are not given enough treatment. They believe that there are many people who die every day who could have been saved or whose lives could have been extended if only they were given the adequate care that was due them. It is sad that they had to suffer during the whole duration of their cancer and die with the last memory of great pain they have only known then.
